If you are looking to invest in yourself and build your brand through blogging. Here are 4 ways that blogging has changed my life, and how it can change your life too.
4 Ways Blogging Can Change Your Life
1. Blogging can provide you with the freedom of time.
Since I made the decision to turn my blogging hobby into a business I have more freedom and control over my time. I plan out my weekly content and I have learned how to create a time management plan that works for me and my family.
Blogging gives me the freedom to create my own hours. I can choose to work just a few hours blogging over the course of a week or I can batch out my days and tasks. An example of this would be me creating all of my content on Sundays for the week ahead.
Other than determining my own schedule, another benefit is the freedom to blog wherever. I often tote around my laptop or iPad, which allows me to create content anywhere.
This saves me time during the week from writing, and I can utilize that free time to work on another aspect of blogging such as affiliates and marketing. Affiliates and marketing are what drives my blog.
If you are seeking to gain more freedom over your life and work schedule, blogging is a great opportunity for you. Not only will you have control over your hours worked but you also have full control over your creativity.
As a blogger, I have freedom over the content I produce. There is no “right” way to blog. I can produce content about the topics that matter the most to me. If you decide to become a blogger you too can share this type of freedom.
2. Gives you confidence.
Blogging has provided me with an overflow of confidence. I have no doubts that whatever I put my mind to, I can and will accomplish it. My blog is proof of this. I started out with a small blog with a few posts here and there.
Over the years my content has evolved. Writing regularly has also grown my confidence in my personal voice. I have built a platform where I can share my views openly with my readers. Don’t you want to have confidence in your personal voice? If so, blogging is a great way to gain your personal confidence in your voice.
For example, you can grow your confidence by setting goals and watching them come to life. Building your confidence through blogging will improve your skills as a blogger.

Comparing my more recent posts with some of my first posts makes the confidence that I am referring to pretty evident. With confidence, I now blog with more clarity and focus. My mission is also clear as to why I am blogging.
3. Teach you new skills.
Of course, when I decided to transition from blogging as a hobby to blogging as a business I had some learning to do.
Specifically, after transitioning from blogging for free on wordpress.com to paying for self-hosting on wordpress.org, there was so much that I had to learn on the backend in order to develop my blog. So, I took all of my questions to google and I learned so much from other bloggers as well.
Indeed, blogging will teach you new marketable skills. Some skills that I learned since blogging includes: technology, marketing, coding, web development, and SEO analytics.
The skills required for blogging were far different than what I had acquired from my Master’s degree in Human Resources. However, I am grateful for my grit to learn these new skills as it makes me more marketable.
I’ve never been a fan of writing but after transitioning to a full-time blogger I now have nothing but time to practice my writing. One thing that I learned since transitioning blogging into my own business is that blogging has led me to discover skills that I never knew I had. Who knew that I would be able to code a website?
If, I can learn new skills … so can you!
4. Provide you with a monetary benefit.
Yes, you can actually blog and make money. Blogging can change your life by providing you with extra income. And who doesn’t want extra income?
If there is a niche that appeals to your interest and you have the content to write. I highly encourage you to start blogging today. It’s pretty simple and if you are motivated you can surely turn blogging from a hobby into your side hustle.
Here are just a few ways you can monetize your blog:
- Make money with Affiliate marketing
- Display Google Adsense on your blog
- Get paid to write reviews
- Create and monetize your own content
However, I want to make it clear that blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. It requires dedication and hard work. Your determination, time, and effort are what determines your ability to succeed in blogging.
Blogging is not something that you can start and just wait for it to run itself. You have to consistently create new content in order to attract new readers and maintain your current readers.
Simply, adding a few ads or posting a few paid reviews will not provide you the monetary benefit you are seeking. You have to be driven and actually treat blogging as your business.
What are you driven to do?
