Adding keywords in your blog
Let’s jump into the basics of adding keywords in your blog post. Once you learn the strategy of where to add your keywords in your blog post you will be able to optimize your content for SEO.
Title
Your title is one of the first places where you need to include your keyword. It’s also the first thing your reader will see if they stumble across your blog link whether on google or another platform.
The average reader determines whether or not they want to read a post based on how captivating the title of the post is. So, it’s best to not waste anytime and make sure your title is to the point and includes your keyword.
Your title should tell your writer what your post is about, but keep it simple and short.
If your title is too long it may get cut off when it’s viewed on google. So, you definitely want to avoid making your title too long.
Headings
Headings are mostly used to format and break up your text content. However, it’s another place where you should include your keyword.
Search engines like google scan your content and read your headings to gather a idea of what your content is about.
You don’t want to overstuff your keywords in your headings but definitely include them in 1 out of 3 headings within your blog post.

Meta Description
Your meta description is a short preview of what your blog post is about. It’s also best to keep your meta description short.
But, never forget to include adding your keyword in your meta description.
Including your keyword in your meta description will further help search engines read your content and know what your content is about.
Image Alt
For the longest time I did not understand that image alt text is and the importance of it. While your reader will not see the image alt text, unless the image fails to load.
Including your keyword in the image alt text it can also help your images be more discoverable on google images, which can link readers to your blog page.
Don’t feel pressured to include your keyword word for word in every image but make sure at least (1) images includes your set keyword.
Body of content
Without overstuffing your keyword into the body of your content. Please make sure you appropriately mention your keyword throughout the body of your blog post content.
Balance is key. Including your keyword within the body of your content will ensure that you remain on topic throughout your post.
Relevance is important when blogging.
Just like you were taught in school always introduce your topic, provide supporting facts, and wrap up with a conclusion.
Url
Last but not least your url should include your set keyword.
Your url, also known as your slug is often a variation of your blog post title. Make sure your url includes your keyword.
The url is another item that search engines will scan to check relevance when pulling sites in search results.
Including your keyword within the blog post url will reconfirm to search engines and readers that the content is relevant or not to the initial search.
