4 Ways to Improve Social Media Engagement
We all want to grow an audience online, create stellar content, and increase our engagement. Too often we give up on social media before we even really get started.
Yes, it’s hard work to do all of those things and can be down right discouraging to a beginner blogger.
Over the years I have come to realize that success does not happen overnight. But, with consistency and following a few simple blogging tips you can really begin to improve your social media engagement and feel like the awesome blogger you really are.
Let’s dive right in… to 4 ways you can improve your social media engagement.
1. Use social media plug ins
Including social media plug ins is the best way to improve your social media engagement.
A social media plug-in allows your readers or site visitors to easily share your posts on their social media accounts easily.
By including social media plug-ins on your posts it makes it so much easier for your reader/visitor to share your content. The more content shares, the more your engagement will increase.

2. Establish a active presence on Pinterest
As a blogger, the quickest way to increase your blog traffic and boost your social media engagement is by establishing an active presence on Pinterest.

Pinterest is the one platform that can drive blog traffic very quickly if you master the platform.
Once you have established an active presence on Pinterest, it is super easy to engage with users as you share links to all of your content.
It’s as simple as creating a nice pin image, and link the URL to the page you are sharing.
To save time throughout the week I like to use Tailwind for Pinterest. Tailwind is a scheduling tool used to schedule your Pinterest posts.
Tailwind assists me with scheduling out all of my pins over a week or month, with ease. It often only takes me a few hours to schedule pins for the entire month. Which of course saves me a lot of time and allows me to refocus on more important areas as a blogger.

3. Write to express your personality
Showing off your personality as a blogger is a MUST! Write to express your personality. Even as a blogger I look for the personality of the blogger within their writing and I can instantly sense whether I can relate or love them by their personality.
The easiest way to express your personality is to simply genuinely write and be you!
Authenticity is everything! No one wants to read content that is being pushed on autopilot. Readers want to know that you are real and we can only feel this through the expression of personality in your writing.
Expressing your personality is key in order to improve your social media engagement. It’s all about connection and sharing of experiences. Aside from sharing valuable content make sure you are connecting with your readers, let your personality work for you.
4. Connect with your readers and improve your social media engagement
Our blog and social media are only as successful as the effort you put into connecting with your readers. Social media is an open-ended platform and a great tool to use to connect with your readers. So make sure you are making those connections with your readers.
Recently, I have started requesting blog topic suggestions directly from my readers. This has been a great success.
Your readers are the best sources of inspiration that there possibly could be for your content. Not only does this strategy improve my social media engagement but it also ensures that I continue to create relevant content that my readers want to read.
You will never run out of content ideas as long as you make it a priority to connect with you readers on social media.
Social Media Requires Consistency
Success on social media requires consistency, hard work, and dedication. However, applying these 4 easy tips to improve your social media engagement will surely help you improve your social media engagement.
Once you realize the impact you have on your readers and across your social media platforms through your engagement, you will start to feel like the awesome and successful blogger you are!

This is all such good advice! I am still working on my social media engagement and I haven’t started using Tailwind for Pinterest, maybe that will be next. I agree with personality for sure!

This post is fantastic. As a rather new blogger, this is just what I needed to read. You’re so right, it doesn’t just come overnight and it’s really handy to be consistent.
I think I’ll definitely get a Pinterest up now as that’s one thing I don’t have.
Thank you so much for sharing, I’ve also signed up to receive a checklist 🙂

Some great advice, I find twitter and Facebook as well as pinterest great for driving traffic to my blog. Pinterest is trickier out of the 3 but if you get it right you certainly see the benefits. Instagram i find has always been quite poor for blog traffic.

YES, YES! I love this! Everything you write, it must be true to yourself. Your readers can sense that. I’m still yet to insert more sustainable social media plug-ins to my blog, thanks for the tip! And yes, I’m becoming more active on Pinterest now and I have seen great growth. Thank you so much for the shoutout and the lovely introduction, I really appreciate it.
