For the next 30 days, I’m ready to push myself to develop new habits that will offer me a more healthy and structured life as I achieve my monthly goals.
Here’s a look into my November Monthly Goals:
Goal 1: Stay offline at least one day per week
Many of my followers know that this past week I committed to a social media challenge and unplugged from social media for one week to refocus. I honestly really enjoyed my time offline.
Taking time off made me realize that maybe I should dedicate at least one week to stay offline. For me, the weekend is sacred for family time. And Saturdays are often the busiest days for me. I am going to commit to staying offline on Saturdays so I can enjoy and be more present.
One thing I learned from my social media cleanse is that not everything has to be posted or shared on social media. We far too often get overly consumed with social media and forget to simply enjoy the moment.
Goal 2: Mediate each morning
There are so many benefits to meditation. I have tried to fit mediation into my day but I find that I get so busy throughout the day and forget to actually meditate.
With that being said I am challenging myself to make time for meditation. And I think I will be more successful by meditating in the morning. So, first thing in the morning soon as I open my eyes and before I roll out of the bed I will meditate for at least 5 minutes.
Goal 3: Stop hitting the snooze button
I have been terrible at hitting the snooze button every morning. I honestly, should just disable to snooze option on my alarms but I really fear oversleeping.
For this month I am going to try to not hit the snooze button in the mornings. I think I will feel much better if I actually wake up the first time around, than hitting the snooze button thinking that I am getting more rest after an 8 minute snooze. It’s really just not worth it and I just wake up even more in a rush to get ready.
Goal 4: Limit my screen time outside of my work hours
I have set times that I work and outside of those work hours this month I am going to commit to limiting my screen time. This means no checking emails or notifications.
When you have so many projects you are working on and are an influencer it can be a challenge to fully unplug. Sometimes you have to either sign out of accounts or simply turn off your notifications. Work and home should remain separate. When you clock out from work, you have to stay clocked out.
Mental breaks and time off is necessary!
Goal 5: Make time for self-care
Making time for self-care is important. Some people may not think of this as much of a goal but it really is. So many of us genuinely forget to take care of ourselves, especially mothers.
As a mom, I spend all day taking care of everyone else. So, at the end of the day, I need to make sure that I am making time to take care of me too. I know I can make time for self-care once I put the children to sleep.
Self-care for me is having the chance to take a long hot bubble bath. During this time I can do a quick face mask and actually catch up on some reading while soaking in the tub. Even if I get to do this at least once or twice a week it would be enough time for ME!
Goal 6: Eat more veggies
I am not as picky as my kids but I honestly probably don’t eat as many veggies as I should, outside of salad. When it comes to clean eating I would pick fresh fruit over fresh veggies.
This month I am going to try to eat more veggies. Maybe, I will take a look at Pinterest for some veggie inspiration. I really enjoy roasted veggies. So, that can possibly be an option.
Goal 7: Develop a workout routine
Walking is a great way to exercise and keep moving but this month I actually want to focus on developing a workout routine. I want to focus on toning my stomach and legs.
I will develop a workout routine and commit to working out 2-3 times per week. This routine will target my stomach and lower body. My goal is to lose inches and tone. I am going to start wearing my waist beads to track my progress.
Goal 8: Write letters of encouragement to those in need
As much as I enjoy blogging I also enjoy being a source of encouragement to others. This month I will focus on being an inspiration to others by writing letters of encouragement to those in need.
I hope to be uplifting and insightful to those who need it the most. I will try to send out 1-2 letters per week to those in need.
Benefits of goal setting
Setting monthly goals have several benefits.
Benefits include:
- provides direction
- purpose in life
- motivation
- clearer focus
- helps decision making
