This week’s Motivational Monday post is in honor of President’s Day. This Monday we are focusing on the importance of being the change you want to see in the world.
As we celebrate President’s Day today we should reflect and consider what makes a good leader. Keeping in mind the qualities that we seek in a good leader so we can aim to be that leader in society.
Monday Morning Mindset: Be the change you want to see in the world.
Gandhi said it best. Be the change you want to see in the world.
We cannot complain about the country we live in if we all do not take pride in being good standing citizens. Citizens that make decisions that support positive changes in their community.
The United States of America is a beautiful country. However, it was built by the sweat and tears of so many.
Oppression is not something foreign to the land we call home, America.
It’s hard for me to witness the oppression we are still facing. And it’s even harder to witness the many who refuse to acknowledge the facts.

Great leaders are not born. Great leaders are made. We must revisit American History and continue to educate the generations to come. We cannot continue making the same mistakes.
Be the change.

Monday Morning Weekly Activity
We need progression.
The progression begins with each of us striving to be the change we want to see in the world. All it requires is the willingness to set aside the fear of failure.
For this week’s activity, I want you to think about your impact within your community.
What are you doing to lead your community?
In what ways are you exampling a spirit of service?
No matter how big or small the deed. I am encouraging you this week to take a positive step and make a choice to be the change you want to see in the world.
Comment below your response to the two questions above. Also, share with us what good deed you have done lately.
I am praying that we all can look to each others responses as inspiration and motivation.

Interesting piece of writing. I’m wondering what sort of history is taught in American schools? Is there emphasis on the oppression of people in the past etc? I’m interested because I work in schools in the UK. Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for stopping by. Unfortunately, American history breezes over a lot of the oppression. It’s really sad how the school systems in the USA attempt to separate American history and African-American history as if there is a separation.
In school African-American history was not taught as in-depth as it should have. American history is African-American history. It dates back to colonization and sadly African-Americans were brought here to a foreign land under oppression and against their will.
People navigated to America for freedom. However, the land was already inhabited. And the land of the free- only applied to some. I think the past intimidates many since it is difficult to discuss as it is a sad reality. But, I think it’s so important to fully understand and speak about it to bring awareness and justice for those who are still feeling the effects of the injustice endured.
