Questions from Courtney @ The Okay Mommy
- What if your favorite thing about Christmas time?
My favorite thing about Christmas time is the season. I am a winter baby. My birthday is in January so I love the wintertime. I am dreaming of a white Christmas but I am not holding my breath on it. I really look forward to waking up to some snow on the ground. Drinking warm beverages and the smell of pine.
2. How do you prepare for Christmas Financially?
This question is pretty easy. I am anti-consumerism. I do not believe into going into debt for anything, especially not for a holiday. No one should have to prepare financially for Christmas. If you are going into debt or have to think twice about purchasing something you are doing it all wrong.
Christmas is not about gifts or material things in our family. We never know what we want because we get everything we want all year long. We don’t wait until Christmas to splurge.
If you are struggling to prepare financially for Christmas I would recommend you save more throughout the year. If that’s something you need to do.
3. Do you do your Christmas shopping online or at the stores, and why?
I do not like shopping in stores and that’s not just around the holidays. I hate shopping in stores all year long. Online shopping all day, 24/7 and 365.
4. What kind of Crafts do you do around this time of year?
I am not a crafty person. I do enjoy baking around the holidays and I would consider that a craft.
5. What is your favorite Christmas childhood memory?
My favorite Christmas childhood memory is of me around the age of 7 reading Christmas story books on Christmas Eve to my dog Sport. My Aunt has a video of this on a camcorder and it’s so funny to watch because my dog Sport literally is just sitting there in front of the Christmas tree and allowing me to read to him, as we both have Christmas hats on our head.
6. What is the most thoughtful gift you have ever received?
The most thoughtful gift that I ever received on Christmas was a gold necklace with my gold first name initial “E”. This was gifted to me from Husband. It’s a family tradition of his that everyone has a gold necklace with their first name initial and it really meant a lot to me that he bought me my very own.
This was gifted to me our first Christmas married. And it really made me feel like part of the family.
7. Do you have a real or fake Christmas tree(s)?
Since we started our family each year it has been our tradition to purchase a real tree. I prefer real trees for the smell.
However, this year we purchased a really nice artificial tree. Our decision was based on not wanting to have to deal with the needles falling off the tree. Hubby has OCD and will run hisself mad vacuuming.
Also, another deciding factor is cost over the years. We calculated how much we have spent on a real tree each year for the past 7 years and it was way more than purchasing our really nice “real looking” articifical tree.
So, we made an investment in a very nice artificial tree. I refused to be cheap when it came to picking out our tree.
8. Have you ever gone Caroling and what’s your favorite Christmas Song?
I have never gone caroling. Definitely, not my thing.
My favorite Christmas song is: Christmas (Baby please come home) by Darlene Love
9. Have you ever kissed under the mistletoe?
Yes.
10. Have you ever built a Gingerbread House? (share pic on Twitter & Tag Me)
I have never built a gingerbread house.
11. Do You prefer spending Christmas In the Cold or In Warm Weather?
I prefer to spend Christmas in cold weather. When it’s warm it just doesn’t feel like Christmas to me.
12. If you could be a character in a holiday movie who would you be and why?
I would love to play Cindy Lou Who because who wouldn’t want to live in Whoville and have a awesome hairstyle??
